General overview: The port has facilities for container, ro-ro and bulk vessels. Two cold stores with adjacent berths. Sharjah is also known as Port Khalid.

INFORMATION
ETA's: Notify control tower, agent and Harbour Master of ETA as soon as possible, message to include vessel details, cargo, flag and draft.
NAVIGATION
Approaches: The approach to Mina Khalid, is marked by lightbuoys and is dredged to 10.3m.
Anchorages: A limited number of vessels may anchor at moorings within the deepwater harbour with the prior approval of the Port Authority.
Tugs: Three tugs are available and they are fitted with fire fighting equipment.
Restrictions:
Pilotage Compulsory, 24 hour service available. Vessels should await the pilot to seaward of the fairway buoy. This buoy is a spherical buoy, red and white vertically striped, flashing, white every 6 seconds at Lat 25°22'N, Long 055°20'E.
Max size: Max draft 12.0m.

Berths No 8, 9, 10 & 11: Total length 775m. Draft 8.5 to 9.5 at MLLW

Container berths: Berths No 1, 1A & 2, :Total length 568m.
Berth No 1A,: Draft 11.5 at MLLW
Berths No 1 & 2: Draft 10.5 at MLLW
Tanker berths: Oil terminal to accommodate tankers of up to 60,000dwt with a draft not exceeding 10.5m.

Storage: A total of 12 warehouses are available: six at 115m x 40m;5 at 120m x 60m; 1 at North Wharf at 88.5m x 40.5m.There are 14 open storage areas totalling 220,200m2 and two berth side coldstores which provide 9,000t of storage.
